Engineering Management 2nd year switch in?
Hey, I got accepted into software engineering but not management and I just finished 1st year. I want to switch into software engineering and management. How would I be able to do this and has anyone done it before? I hear it was possible with good marks.

Right now I'm registering on solar, which required courses should I pick? (just software or software and management)

Thanks, any help would be much appreciated.

if software engineering and management was your first choice and you haven't been accepted to that, your most likely not going to be accepted on special request as far as i know. However, about the SOLAR, you should pick courses for software engineering for now as thats what you've been accepted into. You could always speak with Sally and arrange for you courses later. But i suggest you register to all software engineering courses now !!

The only hope for you to get into management. is to do well in second year and write a letter requesting to the Dean. An alternative is to go into society for a business minor.

I really dont know why you would want to be accepted into eng and management. I did. But I'm not too thrilled about doing a whole bunch of courses I don't like, I better spend a year doing extra courses from other fields.

I chose eng and management because I would have taken business courses as most/all my electives Anyways if I was in the program or not.

I guess to each their own

If you didnt get into eng management after first year, then sorry but you arent going to get into it at all. There is a cutoff average needed from first year to get in and you must not have met the requirements.

Eng Society should NEVER be an option haha just kidding but the eng society kids are the target of a lot of jokes amongst other engineers
