no, I've taken both, and they have completely different readings/focuses.
You'd be fine taking them in either order.
Try to take 1aa3 in a semester where your other courses may not have many novels/readings to do, because you need to be able to get through each novel in that class within 1-2 weeks. If you're taking a course like classics 1b03, you would have 3 novels for that, too, and unless you have a ton of extra time on your hands, you're gonna find yourself pulling all-nighters to try to keep up.
