English Transfer Credits
So I have 6 units of English transfer credits from high school, which I'm assuming are equal to English 1A03 and 1AA3.
My question is, if I take 1A03 sometime during my stay at mac, does that mean all 6 credits are automatically gone or is it just the 3 that are equivalent to 1A03, still leaving me with 3 transfer credits?
Also, does anybody know if professional schools look at your high school transcript for transfer credits? The reason I'm asking is because in high school I was in the IB program and I only got a 5/7 in HL English and I know that at least for University of Alberta med school, a 6 or a 7 is required for transfer credits to be eligible. So I'm really hoping that they don't look at high school transcripts and just see that I have 6 units worth of English transfer credits.
Thanks!

Definitely contact an academic advisor, or better yet, the AdCom at the schools you're interested in. As for the HL credit, any professional school would look at the original source not the fact that it says you have transfer credits at McMaster, so they would need to see your high school transcript if you want to use these courses as pre-reqs and if they can be used to begin with.

Sorry, what's the AdCom?
And I asked one of the Science academic advisors and he didn't know, he told me to contact UoA. So I contacted the university and the person that picked up didn't know either. I guess I can try contacting the university again tomorrow. Although if what you said about the HL credits is true, I'll have to take a full year of English anyways.
Also, does anyone know the email for the BHSc academic advisor? Maybe they'll know

Admissions Committee.
I doubt the BHSc academic advisors would know. In this case, the best thing to do is contact U of A's admissions here: [email protected] a.ca
