enough space for desktops?
Hi,
I am planning to get my desktop from home to my residence(les prince)....I'm going to stay in a double room....so could anyone tell me whether there will be enough space in the room to keep a desktop or not?
Thanks.

Yup, you'll have enough space for sure. But you would have more space with a laptop.

I had a friend who stayed at Les Prince with a desktop and no issues, he just kept the computer by the side of his desk.

Yup, unless you're in a unique position like sharing a room with two toher people, in which case the desk may be different.

I lived in Brandon and knew a girl with a desktop (she had one of those older bigger moniters). It fit on her desk, but it took up atleast half of a desk that is already pretty small. I would reccomend bringing a small table or surface with you so that you have more working space.

My roommate last year in Brandon had a desktop, but it too up like 80% of his desk. But he had a CRT monitor. I would suggest getting a flat scree monitor, if you dont currently have one, it would save you a ridiculous amount of space.

My room looked like it will fit my dual monitor setup I have running right now, with enough space to fit my laptop on also. But this was a desk of a fair size; larger than the picture poster in the latter post.

If you live in Edwards there is A LOT of desk space. The rooms that are turned 90 degrees (I think it's only the X17 rooms) have a TON of desk space. You can probably fit 6 monitors on the desk if you wanted to. Not sure about the single rooms though, I don't quite remember the desks in the singles.

I lived in Bates and brought my beloved desktop. I do have a flat screen monitor, which I would say is essential.

There was someone on my floor who had his dual screens set up no problem. I found space wasn't an issue

My roomate was rocking a big CRT monitor and he managed to have space for everything, but laptops are deffinately a lot more helpful in university

Considering that most of these residences were around before laptops were as common as they are now, I would think that fitting in a desktop computer is not that big a problem.

I had a desktop while I lived in Moulton, but the desk in my single wrapped around an entire wall and then some, so fitting it in and having space to write was not an issue. If you had the loft in a triple though, that's cramped. Doable, but cramped.

A lot of the buildings were built waaay before computers. Students were either hand-writing papers or using typewriters well into the 90's.
