Entrance Scholarships
Quick question. (I searched and found a few topics but I just want to clarify)

I'm going to be receiving an entrance scholarship for mac. When/how do I receive it? Should I pay my tuition now, or wait until I receive it? Also, if I do pay now, would I just end up getting the 2000 back afterward? Do I get the full amount this year, or is it broken up into four, for the four years I spend at mac?

Thanks.

I would wait for it to be credited onto your account. As long as it's there before your payment is actually due you'll be fine.
The scholarship is a one-lump sum. If you pay your tuition now, the scholarship will be credited to your account which you can use for next year or I've heard stories of getting your money as a cheque in the mail.

Wait until the scholarship becomes available on your payment agreement, then check it and reconfirm your payment agreement. It'll be deducted from your tuition.

You don't have to pay until September 1st anyways.

You do get a cheque in the mail if you have credit in your Student Account. The usually send the cheque in February unless you request it.

I believe its over two years. So $2000 this year and another $2000 next year. But getting it next is depends on whether you keep your average at 9.5 or more. Here is the grade scale if you're curious: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calen...ent/pg145.html

The entrance scholarships are not longer renewable.
