Comparing answers isn't academic dishonesty in and of itself; if you compare and then everyone copies one answer, that IS academic dishonesty.
As a TA I saw this happen, and the student who copied did so without the other person's knowledge, under the guise of "comparing answers", since the students were in the same group. But, it is your responsibility to protect your work from plagiarism, so if you show your answers to someone and they copy - even without your knowledge - you can still get in trouble.
If it's due tomorrow then you probably don't have time to talk to the TAs...so I guess you just shouldn't have left it til the last minute to try and figure this out, not that that really helps you right now. You can try emailing them but don't bank on a response.
It sounds like you've already talked to people, so see if they can explain their answers to you and why they did what they did, and then you do the same for your answers. See if you can figure it out, and write down an answer that makes sense to YOU. Essentially taking a poll and then going with the majority isn't a good way to deal with this.
