You can probably still drink it, depends on the date, usually things like Gatorade have a best before date rather than an expiration date.
Gatorade is known to still be good until 9 months after their expiration date http://www.eatbydate.com/drinks/spor...piration-date/

What should you do? Are you really gonna bitch over two dollars? My advice, quit squeezing your coin purse so tight, it cant be good for circulation...

I don't think this is a problem of 2 dollars or not, it is a problem of quality assurance. They should not be selling overdue drinks anywhere, that is a problem of service. I think the OP should report that to the supplier and tell them to restock. Furthermore, 2 dollars is an opportunity cost, that 2 dollars could have went into something that was of quality, not over due products.

I wouldn't blame the op for complaining. I think this is a serious issue if the expiry date was last November... I mean.. this is a vending machine from proper university. They should check qualities of what they're providing us consistently.

Technically it should still be good for another month. But realistically there's no reason you should be subjected to 8 month old Gatorade unless we were in a post-apocalyptic situation and that was the last bottle of Gatorade for hundreds of miles.
You definately deserve your money back, but I'm sure that's going to be a lot of work to find exactly who should be obligated to reimburse you. In that case your best option is probably to just stand your loss now and never buy from those vending machines again.

File a class-action lawsuit against the school.

Call the company, they will refund you and sometimes they give you another one free.

Well, you can start with hospitality services. Even if they aren't responsible for the vending machines, they can at least tell you who to contact, or maybe contact them on your behalf.

Last November!? Sheesh that's old. I'd be forgiving if it was a month old. But 9 month old beverages when you pay full price is definitely not cool.
