Hi, I was just wondering - the winter reading week for 2017-2018 school year is around mid-February. My cousin is getting married (Feb. 24, 2018) and she wants me to be one of her bridesmaid. However, she lives in Australia. I was just wondering is it possible to take an extra week off (before/after) reading week? If so, what kind of paperwork or things would I have to do (talk to the Dean, prof etc.).

You're an adult now - you can take a week off whenever you want. You don't need to ask anyone for permission.

When you're choosing courses next year, make sure you read all the course outlines within the first week (or guess due dates based on old outlines). If any midterms or projects are due after the break, just switch out.

Why would you switch out? You would rather not have a free week to prepare for the midterms or projects?
