EZ-MUGSI, an alternative to ALT-F4 SPAM
Content:
1. What is it?
2. How does it work?
3. Installation instruction.
4. How to use.
5. Known issues.
1. What is it?
EZ-MUGSI is a set of Greasemonkey's scripts that automate the log in process for MUGSI. This solution will negate the need for mass ALT-F4 spam that is normally require for registration day. In fact, it should be faster than manually ALT-F4ing.
2. How does it work?
EZ-MUGSI will click on the MUGSI link. If a "busy" page is the result, it will automatically close the page and try again immediately. This loop will repeat until you get into the "FIPPA Notice" page which will allow you to enter MUGSI.
3. Installation instruction.4. How to use.- Turn OFF Greasemonkey by clicking on the monkey icon top right of the screen.
- Using Firefox, go to MUGSI homepage https://adweb.cis.mcmaster.ca /cis/ahtml/login.htm
- Click on Grade Reports and log in using your ID.
- Turn ON Greasemonkey by clicking on the monkey icon top right of the screen.
- Click on MUGSI link once to give it a start.
5. Known issues and comments.
There are instances where the refresh script will not work. Restarting browser will reset it. If not try turning ON and OFF the Monkeygrease script.
When it get really BUSY, you will have another queue for SOLAR. I don't know how to write a script for that so...
I know there are more elegant scripts for this purpose. Havn't seen it posted here though so I decided to get the ball rolling. Just remember...

Is the alt-F4 technique necessary? I just keep clicking on the MUGSI link until I get somewhere, without having to close the window every time.

Ya it works, I'm pretty confident about it too. I remember last night I did exactly this until the notice came up and it was smooth sailing from there. I was so paranoid about this, I was doing this on two computers. :\
