Filling out scantrons
I just had a question about scantrons. I had a midterm yesterday and when I filled in my student number in the boxes, I did it in pencil. Are they expecting that I bubble the circles in pencil, and write my information in pen? Or does it not even matter. I just hope I won't be penalized for something so minor haha.

The only thing that should be in pen is your signature... and I'm pretty sure that most of the time, they don't even check that.

Yep, that's right.
Signature = pen
the rest = pencil

As long as your student number/answers/version # are in pencil, you should be fine.

I think your fine. Unless some crazy mofo hates you and decides to erase your answers and change em or mess with your student # or something.

^ It only reads the bubbles though, so anything that is not a bubble on the scantron does not have to be in pencil.
EDIT: I know you know. I'm just saying this for people who don't.

Thats right. I've never bothered to actually sign it in pen. And I havent failed yet.
I don't even bother to sign it sometimes.
