Free MCAT tests
Hey Guys,
I am looking for a free practice replica of an MCAT test which will tell me key areas which I need to focus more on. I recall this was offered with some organization for free because a lady was promoting the organization's courses program. Does this ring a bell to anybody?

Kaplan? They usually have days of free testing and classes.

I'm not sure how representative the Kaplan one is, but there's also a free MCAT through AAMC itself:

Under: "Take a free test"

Unfortunately the free one is AAMC 3, which is, though AAMC, also not particularly representative of the actual test. AAMC 3 is a good sample to see how the test is done but the questions are easier and less based on reasoning/logic compared to today's test. It's a good use as a diagnostic though, since the later tests should be done closer to the actual test date (for whoever is actually writing it).

The big problem is from my understanding even with actual AAMC tests the composition of subject matter and difficulty of questions vary a bit. The bright side is that regardless of the difficultly you are converted to a standardized score that enables comparison across difficulties. But it's my understanding the best way to do it is to take 3 or 4 over the course of your studying.

Say...
How do the practise Kaplan tests work? Where do you register? Is it online or at a testing centre?

You should be able to find something on their website, make an account and register for when you want to take the practice test.

http://www.kaptest.com/MCAT/Explore-...tice-test.html

When I did it, it was held on campus in T13.

They give you about half a test to do and you don't know your score until later. But you get a feel for the pacing and testing conditions.

Do you have to take it at Mac, or is there a way I can register closer to home?
