Frost Week is soon here!! Not only is it one of the coolest weeks of the year but it is filled with fun times. It's time to rekindle that welcome week energy to celebrate the first week back to classes! You can also check out news on the frost week facebook event!

Monday, January 5th


4PM: Polar Bear Run
Meet outside the MUSC near the willy dog stand for a brisk jaunt around campus in as little clothing as you please. This event is sponsored by the IRC.
8PM-10PM: Wii Tournament
MUSC Atrium - Test out your Wii skills. There will be a variety of games throughout the tourney.
10PM: Movie Night
On the big White Wall in the Student Centre Marketplace. We'll be watching High School Musical 3!! Troy Bolton is my dreamboat.
Tuesday, January 6th


10AM-12PM - Faculty Day
MUSC - Faculty Societies will be hosting tables where you can sign up for various faculty events throughout the week!
6PM-9PM - Campus Wide Capture the Flag
Central Campus - Faculty battles faculty in a campus-wide contest of capture the flag. Show up at center campus to get organized before the event.
9PM-2AM - All Ages Event at the Q!
Quarters hosts their traditional Frost Week all ages event. Show up early; this party is gonna be huge.
Wednesday, January 7th


9AM-3PM - ClubsFest II
MUSC - ClubsFest II is here. Come experience all that MSU Clubs has to offer. There will be over 70 tables on display, there is certainly a club for everyone at ClubsFest.
6PM-9PM - Red Hot Poker
Quarters - Test your poker skills at Red Hot Poker. Come play for free and earn points towards the regional championship. Registration starts at 6 and cards hit the felt by 7.
6PM - IRC Broom Ball
Basket ball courts by Hedden - It's like hockey but with brooms... and a ball. Broom ball!
8PM - Athletes Karaoke Pub at the Phoenix



11PM-1AM - Moonlight Skate
Coronation Arena - What would frost week be without a little ice skating?! This event is sponsored by SOCS.
Thursday, January 8th
9AM - 4PM - MAC’s Ice Cold Carnival

MUSC / Mills’ Plaza - Join the fun at the MSU Ice Cold Carnival! With free funnel cake, hot apple cider and hot chocolate, enjoy the creature comforts of winter while listening to the DJ spin, take your turn at the Alumni wheel and enjoy the ice sculpture.
Win a scarf on the Alumni wheel and you’ll get into Thursday’s basketball game for free!
6PM - IRC LAN Party




9PM - 2AM - WHITEOUT!
Quarters - The frost is setting in, so it’s time to heat things up! Wear your white shirts to Whiteout at Quarters, January 8th and let the black lights do the rest!
Up for grabs at Whiteout: A Play Station 3 as well as a snowboard travel case. The first 200 people through the door will automatically receive a ballot for a chance to win either the PS3 or the snowboard case.
What’s a Whiteout without a cold snap? Student friendly prices on all Polar Bear shots and Molson Coldshots! Come check out the NEW sound system and DJ at Quarters. Hotter Hits and better sound kickin off FROSTWEEK’09!
This cool party is sure to be the hottest night of the year, so make sure you don’t miss out! GET THERE EARLY to guarantee entrance and to get your name in the mix for the PS3!
WHITEOUT: Doors open at 9pm, $4 cover
** No Cover before 10:30pm**

4PM - 4PM January 10th - MSU Olympics
MUSC Atrium - MSU Olympics begin at 4pm on the 9th. Compete faculty vs. faculty in a variety of fun winter themed contests. Meet in the MUSC Atrium to get t-shirts before 4pm … the competitions will continue until closing the ceremonies; 3:30 on Saturday at Quarters.
Competitions include:
Street Hockey
Ultimate frisbee
Handball
Traybogganning
Sled Race (pulling people)
Eggnog Chug!
5PM - Marauder Basketball Game
Burridge Gym - Wear your frost week scarf and get in free!
9PM-11PM - FYC Games Night / Coffee House
Bridges Cafe - Hosted by the First Year Council, this Vegas themed games night/coffee house is sure to rock.
9PM-2AM - Tony Lee XXX Hypnotist
Quarters - The always popular Tony Lee takes the stage at 10pm. Doors open at 9pm, be sure to get to the Q early, Tony always sells out. $8 at the door.
Saturday, January 10th



3:45PM - MSU Olympics - Closing Ceremonies
Quarters - The MSU Olympic champs will be crowned!
6PM - SOCS Formal - SOCS in the City
Liuna Station - Dinner starts at 7PM. Haven't got your ticket yet? Go get it quick in the SOCS office (MUSC B109) between January 5th and 8th.
9PM - Karaoke @ Quarters



Sunday, January 11th


12PM-11:55PM - Amazing Race!
All over the place - In partnership with Relay for Life, the Maroons will be hosting the Amazing Race, Sunday the 11th, beginning at noon. Sign-ups will be through your residences or through the Maroons Spirit Leader at [email protected] ca.
The Amazing Race will be played with 20 teams of 5. It will continue from noon until all teams have completed the race!

I know I just commented on it but I am SOOO excited for the movie night ahahaha all must come and watch it's greatness... even if you're not a fan, you've got admit that the movie is pretty hilarious to laugh at. You'll see what I mean when you come and watch it.

A quick question...I heard for Moonlight Skate the rentals would have had to be done at an earlier time. Is this true or can you just go and get a rental? Thanks...

It was an amazing night at Whiteout!!! It was a great turnout. I don't remember who the winner of the ps3 and snowboard case, but they have to pick up the prize by tomorrow from msu office.
