full time course load
The website says "Full-time Student for academic purposes is an undergraduate student who is registered in at least 24 units in the Fall/Winter session, including Extra Courses."

I'm assuming extra courses as taking an online course. If I start a course on April 1st (thereby still part of the Fall/ Winter session) but end 3 months later, does it still count within the 24 units?

Probably a good idea to go to your faculty office and ask, but it most likely does. It isn't a summer course and it doesn't qualify as registration for the following fall term, so...

Short Answer: No

Long Answer: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /getre...y.html#gloss_e

"Extra Courses are those courses designated at the time of registration as "Extra", which are not included as units toward completion of a student's program. The grades obtained in such courses will not be included in the computation of the Cumulative Average. However, they will be included in the computation of the Sessional Average and the Full-load Average."

Don't ever assume anything. This is how people get into trouble with the regulations already established by the University.
