Im in a class where the prof posts podcasts, which means you have no reason not to do your own notes if you don't come to class. Well unless you're lazy. Still, I keep getting e-mails from peole saying they had to miss class and could someone send them notes.Then some people got pissed off and sent an e-mail telling people to stop asking for notes and makes friends in class. And then some people were like how dare you say that, you don't understand what circumstances someone might be under( part-time student, work, family, don't have time to make friends etc.) It's pretty funny I think

Why bother asking for notes when the podcast is there =\, you don't need friends in the class if theres a frikken podcast, they can listen to the lecture themselves and get more out of it than they would looking at someone else's notes =S

Not necessarily. Sometimes the material covered in the podcast is much less detailed than the actual lecture.
The e-mails are really annoying, though. One of my friends is enrolled in a few courses that don't have discussion boards on Avenue, so her inbox is filled with people asking for lecture notes because they can't do so on the boards.
For some reason, I haven't seen nearly as many funny/stupid posts on Avenue as I saw last year on ELM.

In this class, everything you need is in the podcast. The prof just talks, so you don't miss anything. I think some people are just lazy and don't want to do lectures if they miss the class.

Are you talking about Soc Sci 2O03? I was the one who posted the original angry e-mail, and got like 10 responses to it lol
EDIT: Wait a minute... there's podcasts? Are you ****ing kidding me?!?! And people are actually e-mailing asking for notes? How stupid and lazy can you get?
