Getting Into a Full Course
So, I really need this one course in order to meet the prereq for a Year 2 program... However, it is full. Who would I talk to to open up a spot for me in order to meet the prerequisite for a second year program that I am interested in applying to? Would they do it, or is my only option to check SOLAR everyday and hope that it opens up one day?

hmmm, depending on the program you can take it in the summer or at least at the end year 2. What's the program?
For H. Life Sciences, I had to take PSYCH 1XX3 by the end of year 2 even though I was in the program at start year 2.

if it is required to get into the program you want to i would try emailing the professor of the course (check the master timetable)... if that fails, wait on solar... spots might open up over the holidays/in the beginning of second term as people start getting their marks and changing their paths

Honours Medical and Health Physics, and apparently I need MATH 1LT3, which has to be done in year 1. Although summer school might be an option, I'd like to avoid it.

I would keep checking SOLAR for the rest of the holiday and if there's still no luck by the time we get back, email someone about it. Although, I'm not sure who it would be exactly, but most likely one of the undergrad advisors for first year or something?

I didn't take 1A03, and I seriously don't think that 1LS3 prepares us for 1AA3. In 1LS3, we only covered like what? 2 weeks of 1A03?

Yeah, I know people who did it, and let's just say I don't recommend it :/ And that's the whole purpose of 1LT3, you guys got it perfectly since it was only created this year! Which is also probably the reason why a whole bunch of upper years are probably in the course as well.

I took 1LS3 then 1AA3...and when I took 1LS3 it was even easier than it is now.
If you really want 1LT3, try the academic advisors too...although I can't guarantee they'll open up a spot, it's worth a try.

I'd suggest emailing the prof, Erin Clements, about your situation and try to explain why you didn't register for it earlier. At worst, she'll point you in the right direction, and at best she'll open up a spot for you. And then give me her number.
/fantasize
I wish I had a legitimate reason to email her. =\

I also want to take 1LT3 but it conflicts with physics 1L03
they both only have one core spot at the same time
i find this really odd
any suggestions?

1AA3 is a good course! You learn a lot of useful maths such as polar co-ordinates and Taylor series. I would recommend that you keep trying to get into these courses by checking on solar before start of term 2. Worst case scenario, speak to assoc dean or prof and ask them to place you. Usually, I've found that these courses will open up since nobody wants to take CALC II anyways.

That is really weird :/ But, I guess there's only so many time spots. You could try emailing the undergrad advisors, but I'm not sure what they can do. You could take one of the courses in the summer instead, or just keep it and exchange notes from someone - I've heard of a couple of people doing this, but I don't really see how it would work :/.
