glove use at pillers deli???
Should the employees at pillers deli wear gloves? I noticed that they never wear gloves and it was grossing me out as they were making my sandwich. Is it mandatory? What are the rules of glove use at these food places?

I found hair in my food once and this lady tried convincing me that it was meat.

They're not required to wear gloves as far as I know. They obviously have to wash their hands though.
I think you can request that they wear gloves to make your sandwich though. I'm not 100% sure on this.

Gloves are actually a less sanitary way to make food.
Think about it... employees who wear gloves are less likely to wash their hands because they're wearing gloves and furthermore, are less likely to change their gloves as often as someone who does't wear gloves washes their hands. (confused yet?)

They don't use gloves at the University of Guelph student centre either, at Piller's anyways. Must be a company training thing/policy?

Well, at least they aren't handling money, that'd be beyond gross.

It doesn't bother me much, because you see, I have this friend called immune system. He lives inside me and doesn't seem to afraid of germs. He tends to throw macrophages at them and they go away.

Pillers isn't even that good anyway. I'd rather bring a sandwich from home, cheaper and better tasting. Plus you know how clean your own hands are.

I'm pretty sure that they wash their hands. When I go, the lady there washes her hands... she only wears one glove after though >_<

where I work which is a bakery/deli - no gloves = health inspector down your throat.
I assume its the same for pillers.
