GO bus
Hey guys,
I am planning to go to the orientation by GO bus but I find it to be quite confusing. I live in the northern part of Toronto (near bayview & steeles). Which bus from which station should I take? I've been looking through the GO bus website.. but was too dumb to understand stuff there :( any help would be greatly appreciated!

Uh... I don't exactly know directions for you. But I normally ride the Viva Purple to York University then transfer to the 407 Go Bus which goes directly to McMaster.

So basically just get to York University then ride the 407 Go Bus to McMaster...

The easiest way would be to go to Union Station.. There's GO bus station there, including the bus that goes straight to McMaster. But there's so many other ways to go.

Get to Union Station.

Take the Westbound train and get off at Aldershot. Then take the Aldershot bus directly to campus.

What time and day of the week is orientation?

If it's on a weekday, you can take the Go Train at Old Cummer station (Leslie + Finch) to Union... and then from there either take the Go Train to Aldershot or Burlington Station switching to bus to campus... or you can take the Go Bus from Union to Hamilton, but you need to walk a bit or take HSR.

It's how I commuted to school last year and the year before that :p (although not this year)

BTW: It's cheaper to take the Go Train/Bus to Union station from Old Cummer then to Mac than taking the TTC to Union and getting on the Go Train/Bus there

im not too familiar with Hamilton.. so I am worried I would get lost if I get off at some place that's not Mac lol. So is HWY 407 bus the only option for me?
I think York university is closer to my house than union station..

The york university bus would go towards union station anyway.. and west towards hamilton. So it could be easier to go that way too

If you take the bus from York, you'll get dropped off in-campus at the GO Bus terminal near Keyes.

If you take the QEW express from Union Station, you'll get off at Colombia College and you can walk to campus in about 10-15 minutes. (The bus turns left off the highway and then stops, you have to walk in the other direction.)

No problem! I would suggest taking the York University bus if you live closer.

Edit: You should note that the bus only runs Mondays to Fridays.

Hmm, it doesn't go straight to McMaster - not the bus from Union Station anyways.

There's also another way, but it's much more limited. Taking the Lakeshore West train STRAIGHT to Hamilton GO Station, and then taking the 51 from the GO Station or the 5C/5B/52.

However, this train only runs to Hamilton on weekdays afternoons, but I don't know the exact times. It's mainly for people coming back from work. However, it's not really conducive to where you live - York U Bus is probably the best.
