Great. Now everyone can comment on how many typos I make while typing in real time...

hahahaha. I never thought of that.
And if you write something you don't mean. Like if you're in a fight and you write something really profane and insensitive, but don't intend to send it...

It'll make people think twice about what they say. I think it's good because some people just blurt things out and it's horrible. It could also show someone's true nature...
But yeah, I don't think it'll be too big in terms of conversation. I'm sure a lot of people will stick with msn, although after a few years maybe they'll switch over. But it's hard to change the old ways.
I'm more interested in real time editing, that means that you don't have to assign one person to edit the whole thing and then send it to other people for double editing. You can just do it in one go!

Ya, it looks like a great thing for doing group work :p. It looks like it would take some getting used to though...

Definitively, it's hard enough to follow a group conversation with 4 other people. Just imagine looking at a page being edited by 4 other people right before you eyes... talk about your brain exploding or something of the sort.

I can see a serious cyber privacy and personal space issue with this thing. Still cool. Just has its kinks.

ZOMG.
This makes editing essays of others (and having yours edited too) so much freaking easier.
AND less tree death-y.

Indeed Danielle. Usually when I edit someone essays I have to use highlights and bolding, and italics to show them where I edited. But now I can just edit as I read and they can see where I'm editing in realtime! So awesome ^-^

Actually it says you will be able to disable the "live-as-you-type" updating.

I'm assuming that it will be a separate service. At least in the beginning. They can't just force people to switch to google wave by replacing gmail with it. A lot of people may not want to switch over right away and they can lose a lot of people that way. Anyways, they have to launch the beta first so they'll get a lot of information from the testers about their latest service.
