Since graduate schools just look at your last 20 credits (instead of your entire transcript), would they be able to see the "cancelled" courses or just the marks? I have 6 withdrawals and it sort of looks bad.

Not all grad schools look at your last 20 credits.
And yes, if you have to submit a transcript then they will still be able to "see" these marks, whether or not they take them into consideration.
