H. Sociology Requirements
I am going into second year and am having some trouble with my requirements.

In my degree audit one part says "18 UNITS FROM SOCIOL LEVEL 2, LEVEL 3 + SOC SCI 2E03, 2F03, 2O03, 2P03, 2Q03, 2R03"

In the undergraduate calendar, the same part says "18 units Levels II or III Sociology", with nothing about Soc Sci courses anywhere.

I am assuming the degree audit is more accurate and maybe the calendar just hasn't been updated? Unfortunately I already picked my courses and didn't include a Soc Sci course because I just noticed this now. I have already emailed someone about this but since I probably won't get a reply for a few days, I was wondering if anyone might know which to go with? Any other honours sociology students know what the actual requirements are?

hey - i spoke to an adviser last year. basically, in terms of degree requirements, soc sci 2e03 /2f03 (these are not offered anymore) 2o03/ 2p03, 2q03 and 2r03 count as level 2 sociology credits. so you could use those courses to fulfill the requirement of 18 units level II or III sociology- but you don't have to either. hope that helps!

I used the Undergrad calendar to guide myself through ( http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALENDAR/2011-12/pg1745.html ) it doesn't include anything about soc sci courses.

Let us know what they reply to you
