What happens, if you access adult websites from Mcmaster IP
Legit question. What happens, if you accidentally access websites with adult material from mcmaster ip address. Can I get kicked out? Is there a three strike rule or something?

"You may not directly or indirectly use your MacOnline connection:
To invade another person's privacy; unlawfully use, possess, post, transmit or disseminate obscene, profane or pornographic material; post, transmit, distribute or disseminate content which is unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, slanderous, defamatory or otherwise offensive or objectionable; unlawfully promote or incite hatred; or post, transmit or disseminate objectionable information, including, without limitation, any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any municipal, provincial, federal or international law, order or regulation;"
Does loading and watching adult videos counts as "transmitting"? Sounds like it not allowed to do anything. I better be careful next time....
....otherwise I will have to go to public library again.

It says 'unlawfully' at the beginning of that sentence. So, I think as long as it's not illegal pornography you'll be fine.

Considering the amount of students who use DC++ to torrent pornography or just regularly stream it while in residence I don't think it applies to regular pornography. They'd have to charge an insane amount of students.

that's just legal mumbo jumbo. it's there for formality. mcmaster will not jeopardize it's yearly revenue it gets from it's perverts. |
