Have 18 units in first term
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the courses I have but the problem is, I have 18 units in one term. Is this simply going to overwhelm me? None of my first term courses can be moved to the second term. I quickly looked at some classes that were available in the second term but none of it really interests me.

Any advice?

It'll be hard, but manageable. Stay focused.

Have you tried looking at second year courses in second semester? Depending on what program you're in, you may be taking a first year course in term 1 that could be a prerequisite to a second year course available in term 2. Just an idea, and I'm assuming you're in first year (if not hopefully you see what I'm getting at).

Test it out for the first week or so and if it seems a little overwhelming you can always drop a course you don't need. It'll be easier to pick one up in second term than to drop one for another during first term.

Overall, just stay organized. It's easier to concentrate and stay on top of things when you know what's coming up and when. Definitely doable though; my friend in his first year of engineering last year had 7 courses in one term (yikes).

Good luck

Most engineering courses have around 38 units a year (19 a semester) so if we can handle it for four or five years straight, one semester should be manageable. Third year engineering physics and management actually has us doing 20 a semester. Yay!

Well if this is your first year, it might be a bit overwhelming because you aren't even used to university courses. Engineering students hove that many units and they struggle for it.
