I'm not complaining, I just noticed that my payment agreement had randomly been updated to add a scholarship amount, I, however, only won one scholarship last year, and it only entitles me to a free textbook haha.

I was just wondering if I could figure out why I'm receiving the money exactly : )

EDIT: figured it out, it's listed on MUGSI, I need to decrease my dependance on Macinsiders lol, don't know how to delete threads so feel free to ignore this, or discuss anything below if it's relevant I guess.

Call the student financial office

http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/

I don't think it's the entrance scholarship or the dean's list because I didn't get any scholarship from those.

Maybe you're just so awesome they gave you a random scholarship

I'm pretty sure you would have it too bernard, considering it's given to the top 10% percent of kids by faculty, but since we changed faculties, I dunno if they group us with the health sci's now.

Are you being considered for the Hooker Scholarship thing? (sweet)
This isn't the hooker scholarship, it's the university senate scholarship, and it seems to have the exact same criteria as the hooker scholarship O_O (small number of students, by faculty, 9.5 or higher, top percentile)
GO check mugsi -> financial aid and scholarships -> scholarships.

According to previous threads about it on MI, not everyone.

did you guys receive the hooker or senate scholarship? If you don't mind me asking what faculty are you guys in? I had a 10.8 average in the faculty of science, but nothing comes up for me :(

I'm eligible for consideration for the senate with 11.4 in the faculty of science. It shows up in my PA, but I guess we have to wait and see if we actually get it...

Does anyone who has a 9.5 or higher receive this award?

Established in 1981, and resulting from the bequest of Dr. H.L. Hooker. Awarded for overall academic excellence (Sessional Average of at least 9.5) to students in undergraduate programs, with the exception of those in their graduating session and those retaining scholarships of $1,000 or greater. Each year quotas are established for each Faculty and other academic units in proportion to the number of full-time undergraduate students who obtain a Sessional Average of 9.5 or greater.

If I'm not mistaken, the Hooker one requires a higher GPA than the Senate. So I assume that if particle is eligible for the Senate with an 11.4 GPA, the Hooker cut-off is above that

I got $1600 on PA from Mac Scholarships. I'm guessing this is the $1500 from Hooker + $100 from Queen Elizabeth A4T. I'm in the Faculty of Science (just finished 1st year). I don't want to expose my CA here but it was higher than 11.5.

Ca$h moneyz aint nun funnayyy!
