Health Aging and Society Thesis
I am in 3rd Hon. Health Studies and have been thinking about whether I want to do a thesis next year or not and was wondering if there was anyone out there that is currently doing one in this department and how they are finding it. Most of the info out there about theses are for science majors so I wanted to get your thoughts about a thesis in the Health Studies/Gerontology field.

Hi there,

I graduated last year from HAS and completed my thesis. Writing my thesis was a lot of work but it was a large sense of accomplishment when I finished. The chair Gavin Andrews (who teaches the thesis course) is a lot of help and ensures a few times throughout the year that you are on the right track. I recommend finding a thesis supervisor who is a faculty member as they are likely to have more experience in supervising theses. The undergraduate thesis is designed to help students meet specific deadlines (ie. literature review is due in November). These deadlines keep you on the right track as to where you should be in the writing process. I recommend you write one. If you have more questions, feel free to ask me.

Theses are fun!

I did mine under CSCT though.
