HELP - course question
Two of the courses i have to take conflict. (well one is a mandatory course one is a prerequisite to another course i want to take). My question is.. is it dumb to take the mandatory level 2 course either next summer, or in 3rd year?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for level 2 Anthro and Classics courses? I'm really having a hard time choosing, because everything is either NOT offered this year or only offered in term 1. So I end up with a timetable full for term 1, and almost empty for term 2. Frustration!

Assuming that the mandatory course that conflicts is offered every year, then it shouldn't be a problem. The calendar only suggests which courses should be taken in which year in order to help you minimize problems later, but that isn't to say you have to take it in the timeline they've set out.

Just as long as you've taken and passed all the courses listed out in your program will you be able to graduate with your degree.

You should also make sure the mandatory level 2 course isn't a prereq for anything you'll have to take in the future, or if it is, that you'll be able to work around it (ex take the level 2 course in 3rd year and the next course in third year, or something like that).

That all makes sense. I'm also confused with electives.. because I am doing a double major. What constitutes an elective? Can I take a 3rd year course in 2nd year or is that going to screw me later for elective requirements. Ah, so confused.

An elective is a course you take that's not required for your degree, it just adds units towards fulfilling your degree. This is true regardless of whether you're doing a double major or not, there's no difference.
I don't understand what you mean by screwing you later for elective requirements.

Yes...most programs specify that you can't have more than 48 units as first-year courses to count towards your degree, but as long as you're under that it's fine.
