Right from the download, yes chrome is faster. After you get the right add-ons and settings for Firefox, it's faster.

besides, the collection of plugins for firefox is far greater.

Also I think Chrome looks silly..

Mozilla also offers live chat support almost everyday, run by volunteers. I used to do it but I have no time anymore

Almost every plugin for Firefox has a chrome equivalent at this point and extensions don't noticeably slow down browsing. There's very little reason to choose FF over Chrome for the average person (Unless you have very specific UI customizations in FF that can't be replicated in Chrome or need one of the few extensions that doesn't have a chrome equivalent).

To be fair though, FF4 and Chrome 11 are basically just as fast as each other, it's FF3.6 that really seems like a dinosaur compared to Chrome.
