Your course load is fine. Math 1A03 is really easy if you've done decently in high school calculus (80%). Math 1AA3 is more difficult, but I enjoyed it and ended up doing well.
Try not to get let down by your first test, usually the professors find a way to even things out through the term. For example: many people bombed the first chem test of the year, and the second one was significantly easier. With chem and math, make sure you do the practice problems and tests.
With labs, if you don't know, ask. The TAs and instructional assistants are there to help you. A lot of people have issues with writing lab reports, even in 3rd year biology courses. Make sure you get your lab techniques down - like pipetting. It's amazing how people still manage to fail at pipetting :\.
As long as you study effectively, then you should do fine. : )

Very good advice. It's also important to know the opposite. If the first test was easy chances are that the second one will be tougher. Don't let your guard down like I did! Keep on studying hard but don't overwork yourself either. Balance is the key.

Determining an "easier" course is highly subjective. Pick a course that you enjoy; That way you will more likely put effort towards the work you do for it, which will lead to a better grade than taking a class someone said was easy but you dislike greatly.

I took it when it was still called Psych 1A03. There's online lectures now and group assignments.
I'd say it was light compared to something like physics.
& Go for the honours degree, some schools require it.

You can take it by 2nd year. Technically you only have to take 3 out of Bio 1M03, 1A03, Psych 1XX3, and Psych 1X03. It's good to have both psychs for upper year prerequisites.

Here are mine:
Bio 1A03, 1M03
Chem 1A03, 1AA3
Physics 1L03, 1B03
Kin 1Y03, 1YY3
Psych 1X03
Math 1LS3
I'm really worried about the second physics, I've been told that most life science students wait until second year to do it if they are doing L03 in first year
