I don't have any classes with you; but it's not a good thing to show your student number to everyone. :] Just a word of advice.

Oh shoot, I agree. Crop it, so that you can't see the top part. Better be safe!

I think a mod should just edit out those pictures ASAP until the topic-maker gets back =/

I was in your Anthro class. Then I changed it to 1B03

EDIT: And since I'm such a noob, anyone care to share what can be done with your student ID, should mine ever fall into the wrong hands? Why is it such a bad thing?

Well I would think it's something similar to someone taking your SIN, although it wouldn't be AS bad.

Not even anywhere close to that, I think the most that can happen is that some courses post the results of tests online and you can check your mark with your student number, but thats the most I can see happening. No one verifies you by just asking your student number. You need your student card or other forms of verification

Also, if you lose your Student ID Card, they can use it to buy books (There's a limit though, 1000 or 1500 or something like that) and they can buy as much food as your meal plan would allow.

Edit: Books may be harder to buy though, I think they look at the picture to make sure it's you. Plus, it's not just like swipe and leave, you have to sign and what not. For food you can just say you are buying for your friend but I've never seen someone stopped.

Can't someone ask to look at the card though, especially if they see that the picture is not the cardholder's ?!
