My family had to move because of crazy kids/ lazy parents in my old neighbourhood so I can totally relate to the homeowners. It seems like a lot of students here haven't had the pleasure of having bad neighbours. Its possibly one of the worst situations for a homeowner. And nobody helped us, we called the police and they never did anything. Just like in this case the city isn't doing anything. There is nothing okay with listening to drunk people beside your house, which you invested money into.

lol as a student i shouldn't be demonizing students?? that's your argument? oh pleeease i never said it was just students, i never once said students shouldn't be allowed to rent, what i said and implied was that YES univesity and college (and highschool and middle school) students do stupid sh*t. My resolution was that the police and/or other enforcements should make sure THESE people face the consequences b/c its stupid. i'm a student, i rent, but i also don't drink don't smoke don't do drugs don't party excessively, don't vandalize. i'm sure if we found stats somewhere we could link students/age of individuals to vandalism.

......

my point about landlords and students was in contrast to whoever it was that said (maybe u sorry i don't keep track of names and such here) landlords love student areas b/c there will always be students to rent their properties. i'm sure some landlords like this... however im sure any person would much prefer the situation i previously stated.

i could easily say "as a young person you shouldn't be demonizing young people"... linking a group of people to any issue that isn't proven doesn't ad to the solution.. lol but as i said before, i never said students should be prevented from renting i don't know where you got that from

I think everyone on this thread would agree with that.
The problem I have with this situation is that the homeowners are targeting students, and that's not fair. They really can't have any proof that college/university students are causing these problems, and it's not right to generalize against a group like that.
