Second year is pretty common between the bio specializations. You can still switch into it next year if you make sure you take all the courses needed for it.

I would recommend that you see my review on Bio 3MM3 if you haven't already .
I'm pretty sure it's offered every year. I would recommend it, but with reservation. The labs do take a bit of work, but they're generally pretty fun and most of them do not take up the entire lab period. I thought the dissections were pretty cool and were easy marks. You do need to be pretty good at rote memory work though to do well on the midterm/final exam.

Thanks for all the help!
So far it looks like my timetable will be as follows:
Term 1:
Chem 2OA3
Bio 2B03
Bio 2D03
Bio 2F03
Geront 1A03
Term 2:
Chem 2OB3
Bio 2A03
Bio 2C03
Kin 1YY3
Stats OR Biochem 2EE3
To be honest, I'm worried about both terms, in addition to the fact that I didn't take any Psych courses. I was also trying to free up Friday afternoon but with the Orgo schedules, it's impossible. How manageable is it?( with a decent amount of work of course) And the 3 term 1 classes with labs? Also, what about midterms, when are they usually scheduled? I've heard some are during class times but I'm not quite sure which courses this applies to. And lastly, which courses should I be worried about more than others? And which are considered "easy"?
I know that's a whole lot of questions, I'm just really worried =/. Thanks again!
PS- I agree britb, I really hate the late classes. Especially with 2F03, I don't finish till ~10 on Thursday, and the Bios at 5:30 aren't the greatest either.. =/

I actually didn't apply either (I had some stupid idea to do BioChem). Email Kathy McIntosh and she can check your record and open a seat for you (as long as you qualify). DO IT ASAP! She was able to get me in within a few days (she was away from the office the weekend I emailed and I got a final confirmation for the Science Faculty about the Tues/Wed after).

Yeah, I took Kin 1Y03 and 1YY3.
Have you taken Kin 2C03/2CC3?
I saw the course outline, but it would be wonderful to get some advice about the courses.

I didn't take Biology 3MM3, but a bunch of my friends did. Lots of labs/dissections. O'Donnell is a great prof but his tests have lots of detail that need to be memorized. If you're squeamish I wouldn't recommend it. lol, nh999 remember the cockroaches that were brought into 3ZZ3? :|
For the two kins, most of the people who took the course in physiology didn't take 1Y03 or 1YY3 and still managed to do well. If you're good at self-learning and asking questions when you need it it shouldn't be too bad.

Haha. I was in the exact same situation. Granted, the physiology program was brand new at the time.

And the 3 term 1 classes with labs?
|
Labs were once every 3 weeks (there were 4 total) for 2F03. 2B03, 2F03, and 2D03 were very easy.
Second term, I found 2A03 easy - just time consuming with labs. 2OB3 required a lot of practice, but was doable. Biochem 2EE3 was a joke.

Sana - Nope, I haven't taken any of those courses. Like Sanju, I'm wondering if I should be taking Kin 1Y03 and 1YY3 before the upper year kins.
p.s. thanks to everyone else for the info about the other courses!

Bio or Biochem? I only took Biochem 2EE3 as a prereq for grad programs.

I was wondering about that. Some grad schools require 2 terms of Biochem. Would that have to be one of the upper year Biochem courses, or can it be 2B03 in addition to 2EE3.. Or does it vary depending on the school =/?

It doesn't matter, as long as it's 2 biochem courses. Not everyone can take 2B03, the course following 2EE3 is 3G03.

Which courses would you guys recommend from the Physiology course list:
We have to take 6 from:
BIOLOGY 2L03, 3AA3, 3B03, 3F03, 3FF3, 3K03, 3M03, 3MM3, 3R03, 3S03, 3SS3, 3TT3; KINESIOL 2C03, 2CC3, 3Y03, 4C03, 4CC3; MED PHYS 4B03; ORIGINS 2FF3, 2LU3; PSYCH 2D03, 2E03, 2F03, 2N03, 2TT3, 3A03, 3F03, 3FA3, 3J03, 3S03, 3T03, 4Y03
I didn't take Psych 1XX3, so I'm sort of limited
I was thinking,
Kin 2C03
Kin 2CC3
Bio 3MM3
Kin 3Y03/Origins 2LU3
Psych 3A03
Kin 4C03
I really wanted to take Bio 3F03 and Bio 3K03, but it looks like they are discontinued

which courses did you take and would recommend?

I did most of my physiology courses in psych (2TT3, 2E03, 2F03, 3J03), but I'm not sure if you need 1XX3 since it's so biology based. I also took 3SS3 (good if you like Math) and 3TT3.
A few of my friends took Audition and liked it. If you're interested in anatomy Bio 3F03 would be good to take (perhaps during your 4th year?). Kin 3Y03 is supposed to be easy and interesting.
A lot of people liked 3AA3.
