Hey incoming class of 2018!

Check out the registration for the HORIZONS leadership conference at McMaster this August! It takes place the first weekend of August and gives you the chance to meet other first-year leaders, make friends and connections at Mcmaster, stay in residence at Les Prince Hall, enhance your leadership skills and spend a weekend doing a bunch of great activities and events! I'm part of the planning team this year, but I was also a delegate way back in 2009 and I absolutely LOVED it. It was a great way to connect with incoming first-years and get all your questions answered by the awesome staff at the conference. You really go into first-year with a small family to support you throughout the transition. It was a great chance to get introduced to uiversity and really help you ease the anxiety and stress that comes with the transition. I've also met some wonderful people and I highly recommend you check it out!

Delegate registration has been opened and will remain open until spots are filled, so please fill out the registration as soon as possible!

I HIGHLY recommend that you go to Horizons if you're going into first-year in September... it is such a great opportunity to meet sooooo many new friends over the summer before going to Mac, and helps you feel more comfortable with the campus.

When you arrive on campus in September to start school, you will recognize a lot of people you met at Horizons in the halls, and say hi to them which is great if you're coming to Mac and not knowing many people.

Also, the skills you learn at the event, as well as the speakers that they bring in to talk about leadership are priceless!

It's well worth the money. If you have the money to go, definitely do it!
