Hey first year students! If you haven't heard of the HORIZONS conference then you really need to look it up, it is a weekend for incoming students where you get to live in residence for the weekend, meet new friends, learn leadership skills, do a whole bunch of fun events to connect with upper year leaders, and much much more. I attended Horizons back when I was going into First Year at McMaster and it was an experience that helped me TREMENDOUSLY with 'coming out of my shell' and feeling a lot less nervous about university. Plus I met some amazing people who I'm still friends with many years later and wouldn't have met had it not been for Horizons... so I highly suggest if you're a first-year student to check it out.
