HSR Free Service in Summer?
Is the HSR bus service also available for mac student during the summer (free)? If not, what least expensive options does one have to cover the summer months?

Do you know of any other services available to mac students that could be suspended during the summer?

Undergraduates have an 8 month HSR pass (Sep-Apr), graduates have a yearly pass.

If you are an undergraduate, you can buy a 4 month pass:

McMaster Undergraduate students and Mohawk College students have the option of purchasing a Summer Semester Transit Pass for students enrolled for the four (4) month summer semester, beginning May 1, 2011. This Pass may be purchased through the McMaster / Mohawk Students Unions only for $284.00 for the four (4) month period May 1, 2011 to August 31, 2011. The Pass must be presented to an operator along with your Student Identification Card, which has an HSR validation sticker expiring April 30, 2011.

Its only cost effective if you're on campus like every day of the week for both summer semesters (I think). I had work so the cost was worth it for me. (1 summer course)

You can also only purchase this discounted summer pass from mac if you have at least one summer school course - so if you're just working at mac but no summer school, no dice.

Agreed, I just wanted to make it clear in case anyone is confused: You can only get a cheap summer pass through the MSU if you're taking summer courses. If you're not, then you have to buy the regular HSR pass.

Most cost effective way is getting a used bike. The weather not only calls for it, but it's also good exercise and quicker than the bus I find.
