Hth Sci 1pa3
the email says that this course is evaluated base on a pass/ fail basis
so just to confirm, that means it won't affect my GPA right?
then wouldn't it be a good course to take since you're not as stressed about the marks?
I'm interested in learning about the areas of research, but lots of writing is a big concern of mine
any insights anyone?

It's a new course, not even in the course calendar, so no one can really tell you anything other than what's in the email...but yes, if it's pass/fail then it won't affect your GPA.

Remember it works conversely as well. It may be the easiest course ever but you're not going to get a 12 to raise your GPA.
I would only take it if I was really, really interested in it. Otherwise take a bird course that can actually improve your grade if you needed it to.

You should be interested in it if you are in biochem... chances are you are going to be doing research when you graduate so you'll want to be on top of what people are doing research on.

My friend coming into first year signed up for it. It sounds crazy cool. Also if you're worried about marks it might take some of the stress off. But seriously, if I had had the chance to take it I would've.

Does anyone know if its apart of the Life Science I Course List? Cause if it is, I'd definitely take that rather than Kin or Geography

Probably not, since it's a pass/fail course...they may add it later on, but for right now no.

You need permission to overload. Usually they won't let you do it first year. Is there any other course you could put off to the summer or second year?

This is news to me, overloading is probably not a good idea anyways. And perhaps physics 1BO3? How does summer school work exactly?

But the thing is i want to go into biochemistry in level II and you need physics for that...
But on the other hand, its probably for of a benefit to me taking a course that has something to do with what i want to do second year then doing kin just because people say its awesome, dont get me wrong, it does look pretty awesome, but learning about all the names of the bones, and muscles, seems a little boring to me

Yep, its math 1LS3 and the last course is Pysch 1XX3, the thing with that is so i can keep the option of honours life sciences open (you need both psychs), however from what i hear honours biology is pretty similar to honours life sciences, if not almost identical so... maybe dropping psych 1xx3 to pick up hthsci 1pa3 isnt such a bad idea?
