HUMMERS HUMMERS ARE THE BEST!

Welcome all 2013 Faculty of Humanities Students! There are LOTS of you at McMaster, and your Welcome Week reps (called Hummers) are soooo excited that you are coming to Mac! Use this thread to introduce yourself to some of your classmates and talk about some of the courses you're interested in taking!

Don't be afraid to post something on MacInsiders if you have a question! There are LOTS of Humanities students that post regularly, including three of the MacInsiders Exec!

A message from Dean Crosta:

The Faculty of Humanities comprises over 125 full-and part-time faculty researching and teaching in nine departments. Over 3,000 undergraduate, masters and PhD students from across Canada and around the world are enrolled in our programs. They join the thousands who have graduated from humanities programs at McMaster since its establishment in 1887.

[...]

As that world becomes more interconnected, the disciplines of the humanities – the study of history and culture, language and philosophy, art and music – have acquired a fresh relevance.

Today, the Faculty of Humanities is enjoying a period of expansion and renewal. Our enrolments have surged. We are hiring some of the best minds to consolidate our faculty complement. Our Faculty has strengthened its commitment to the classic areas of humanities while adding programs in exciting new fields. It is also becoming a place of cross-disciplinary collaboration, where classic disciplines are interacting with new forms of knowledge and new technologies. Those trends herald an exciting future for McMaster Humanities.
This year marks the Faculty’s 40th anniversary as a formal division. The fact is, however, that the humanities have been at the heart of the McMaster ideal since the beginning. The heart of the humanities themselves shines through the pages of this website: in the passionate commitment of our faculty, though the dynamism of our students, and with the solid support of our Humanities staff who help our community maximize their McMaster experience.

Those would be two different rooms inside University Hall.

I think 103 is a small lecture room and 112 is a tutorial room.

Yeah I'm pretty sure 112 is a tutorial room as well.
