Terrible road conditions where I was commuting from- after being stuck on the road for two and a half hours and missing my 12:30 exam, I ended up going back home.

Anybody know if they'll let me defer the exam because of the weather? Or do I have to go get a doctor's note?

Not if you've been emailed. I'm not saying ALL EXAMS ARE CANCELLED EVERYONE, I said I was notified that mine was cancelled.

As a general rule, no, the weather is not an acceptable reason for deferring. You are responsible for getting yourself to campus, regardless of weather, traffic, transit strikes, etc.

Having said that, there seems to be an unwritten policy where you get to miss and defer one exam for free...eg you sleep in accidentally, or misread the schedule, or anything of that nature.

If you are able to get a doctor's note then it can't hurt, but as long as you haven't used up your "freebie", then you shouldn't have a problem.
