iClicker is a special tool used in large lecture halls for quizzes and to encourage participation in class.
CAPA is a computerised physics assignment program.

An IClicker is basically this gadget you buy for $40 and will use it for many classes. It has Options A, B, C, D and E on it. Some profs use it to ask multiple choice questions during class (sometimes for marks) to which students respond using the iClicker. The prof may then show how many people selected what response, etc. Some profs use it to take attendance.
CAPA is basically a program on which you do online Physics quizzes.
Hope that helps!

Iclicker is just the device used to answer multiple choice in class, does count for marks.
CAPA is the web system used for online homework for physics. Other ones that are used for example are Webwork for math

The iclicker is used for participation in some classes. Some profs use it to encourage participation. Also, sometimes you get marks for participating using the iclicker.
You can get your iclicker from Titles (the mcmaster bookstore) for $41, or you can buy it used for like $20shh.
CAPA is an online assignment that you do to get some practise in physics. I am not sure how it works for science but in first year engineering capa was important, because some of the test questions were taken from it (they will just change the values and other minor stuff). If one question in capa said that a box is hanging from a cable, then your test question will probably say the same thing but instead of a box, it might say a shark.
Some people didn't do capa because it takes some time and its only worth like 2.5% (for physics 1d03&1e03). Even though it's only worth 2.5% if you do all of the capa assignments and understand them you will do very good in physics.

CAPA is a place where I used to reign over my personal army of students having trouble solving physics problems.

Some profs might use it for participation/attendance in upper years...I know someone who used it in 2nd/3rd year...ask upper year students in your program and see what they say.

iClicker is something the upper year classes use a great deal for participation marks. Definitely something to keep throughout your time at Mac, and then sell once you're done your degree.
There are also some classes that have marked quizzes that use the iClicker system.

Crapa is the on-line assessment tool used for Physics 1D04. Best of luck with that; just go see Frank in the basement of Thode if you have any problems.
