I'm in first year life science. I think I want to go into the PNB program. In general, how important are first semester grades? I think I have one 5, a couple 6-7s and the rest 10s... It isn't horrible but it isn't great either, so realistically speaking, how important did you find your first semester grades to be? The grades are still within the requirements for the PNB program, though. I think the next semester would definitely be better, because I made mistakes this semester, but I also learnt from them, and I've planned ahead to make sure I dont make the same mistakes again.

When you have your grades review at the end of the fall/winter term and apply for your programs, they don't favour one semester over the other, they look at the average for all grades, if you're concerned then work harder next term. In my first year I did not do so well, but got into my program (it wasn't competitive), I worked harder in my second year and got into a competitive program.

Can anybody tell me how competitive the PNB program is?

You want a GPA of about 8 to be safe for admission

Your first semester grades are just as important as your second semester grades. Why would it be any different?
