The best time to view anything celestial is midway between dusk and dawk...3:30-5:30 am is clearly not at this point.

It's typically around 2 am (except in the summer when it gets dark like 10 pm and the sun rises like 5 am) but this time you have to consider that daylight savings just happened, and the days are getting really short.


That being said, I started watching around 11:00, starting catching quite a bit of action around 11:45 ish.

I think I took that last shot I posted at around midnight on Sunday. That was a 10-15 minute exposure. I didn't notice most of the meteors my camera seems to have picked up. I thought I caught one and when I came back to my computer to review the photos, I was surprised at how many there were in the photo.

some friends and I went out to the Dundas Conservation Area on Governor's Road and camped out there from 12:30-2:15 and saw a whole bunch!

I went with some friends to behind the stadium, and we WISH THEY TURNED THE FLOODLIGHTS OFF! I saw maybe 5 but there were so many people missed because the lights were blinding! :( Anyone know any other places on campus that are better, for next year?

get as far away from the city (lights) as you can. I'm in the country but even the cars that go by interfere with being able to see them clearly. You should still be able to see them tonight. Last night was the 'peak' night so there was supposed to be more than there would be tonight.

The leonids don't come around every year. The Persieds do, and they come around sometime in august.
