i am in social sciences for first year and i really want to transfer to commcerce II
however i dont think my avergae is high enough, i might be getting a 6.8 or 7.0 in between there
does anyone know if there is any other option i have?
i have had quite a few personal problems but i know tht mac cannot take that into consideration

More specifically,

Transfer students may be admitted to Commerce II from other universities or from other Faculties within McMaster University. Transfer students may be expected to complete COMMERCE 1E03 and 1PA0 and one of ANTHROP 1A03, GEOG 1HA3 (or GEO 1HS3), GEOG 1HB3 (or 1HU3), HEALTHAGE 1AA3 (HEALTHST 1A03), HEALTHAGE 1BB3 (GERONTOL 1A03), POL SCI 1G06, PSYCH 1X03 (or 1A03), RELIG ST 1B06 or SOCIOL 1A06 as part of the degree requirements. Academic requirements for admission of transfer students will be more demanding than those for Business I students.

and

To be considered for entry into Commerce II a Business I student must have met all of the following:
  1. achieved a CA of at least 5.0 on a minimum of 24 units of course work for Business I (on first attempts only) and these must include all required courses of the Business I program;
I think that it's either a 6.0 or a 7.0 needed for other students to transfer in, although I don't know which one is more correct.

I can't find more specific information since almost all the pages on the calendar are giving me a "NOT FOUND" error.

Safest bet would be to talk to an academic advisor.

I went through the process last year, the minimum mark is calculated based on the average of the applicants. OP, you still have exams, study hard get your average up to an 8-8.5 and you should be fine.

When I called them a month ago the avg was around a 9-10 to transfer in but obviously thats going to drop as the semester goes on to something like an 8-9. They told me they accept 20-30 applicants out of more than 100. I hope all this didnt make me give your hopes up. Its not easy, but just sharpen up for final exams and see how high you can get your avg. You never know some people can forget to apply for the exact same thing your doing, or they may want to transfer but at the last second they realize they dont have a requirement thats necessary for the transfer so these things can put you in as well
