Definitely. I had less trouble eating it when I was 5 and thought it was actually a dog.
True story: When I was 5 and in Kindergarten, the kids in my class had to read children's books and discuss how we felt about them with our teacher. I read a book about a poor family, and when my teacher asked me how I felt about it, I said I didn't understand why the family didn't just eat their dog. My Dad had to come in (because I guess that made me seem deranged, I don't know) and explain to my teacher that my older brother had once told me hot dogs come from dogs and I believed him because I'm an idiot. He probably left out the "idiot" part, but he shouldn't have. I think it was made out to be a bigger concern than it was. I didn't say I don't understand why they don't eat their son.
