Kpop Appreciation
Hey everyone!

While browsing the music forum, there seems to be none or a lack of kpop threads. I want to start a thread for all those interested in kpop music and create a place to talk about kpop.

For those who don't know what kpop is, I will enlighten you. Kpop stands for Korean popular music and it's taken over Asia by storm. Majority of kpop songs are very catchy and simple. It's actually quite westernized, although there are Korean/Asian influences. You won't be alienated and in fact, you will fall in love with the music. Hopefully.

If your just starting to get into kpop, I recommend searching for groups on Youtube like Beast (my personal favorite), MBLAQ, or Big Bang to start out. Their music is quite varied, so can see all sides of the kpop spectrum. In relation to these groups, I must say that kpop has a lot of boy bands and girl groups. I realize this trend has faded in western music.

If your familiar with kpop, feel free to generate discussion, give your opinions, or just show your appreciation! Thanks.

Sadly a lot of KPOP groups have become generic these days, but I still listen to it quite a bit.

MBLAQ, Big Bang (their old hits), 2PM, BEAST, and F.CUZ. I miss DBSK too :\ it sucks that they split up.

Oh man. As a follower of StarCraft I was inevitably exposed to Kpop.

They seem to get a lot of internet hate.. but..

SNSD forever! <3

YES, finally some people who share my interest in korean music.
First KPop thread I've seen on Insiders!

My favorite are... SNSD, Wonder Girls, B2ST, Big Bang, Miss A, G.Na, Sistar... and so many others I can't name on the top of my head.

Clover's La Vida Loca blew my mind when the group first came out.

It never crossed my mind to start a thread about Kpop...

Anyway, I'm a major Kpop junkie.

Edit: YOUNHA YOUNHA YOUNHA YOUNHA *points to avatar and profile pic*

Edit #2: Rising Gods Of The East. 'Nuff said.

I only watch kpop/jpop videos cuz the girls(boys if you are a girl) are hot, i'm 93.3(repeating decimal)% sure a good portion of the foreign kpop fan groups are listening to the music for that reason as well.

A friend showed me a video of something from a kpop group full of hot girls. I could've cared less if the music was on mute...nobody watched the video for the music.

This is how it begins.. Then it spirals out of control. The overly produced, simple songs are burned into your consciousness until resistance is futile. This sums it up pretty well:

A song I find rather catchy:

To keep the SNSD fires burning (though this is a Japanese song, but whatever):
