The videos are taken down, but if those are the ones I'm thinking about..
Never have I wanted to be an ice cream spoon so badly. <3
Edit: And if I'm wrong, I'm talking about this:

StarCraft II has really got me into Kpop since they play these cute girls before all the proleagues and at finals they actually perform live
Lately its been T-ara, I think Secret is the new huge one out there with that catchy "Madonna" single. (drool)

It can't be helped that a lot of the fanbase is made up of fangirls/fanboys who dig the appearance of the groups, that's how the record companies choose new talents, after all. Looks sell in the kpop industry.
what got me into KPOP wasn't the looks, but boA and se7en's music, ahah. sadly, I find myself staying pretty much for the looks/dance choreography LOL.
also, tae yang is quickly becoming overrated. he was great before, but now he's being idolized as some king of korean rnb or something lolol.

Tae yang is well-liked because he isn't feminine compared to other kpop guys.

<3 kpop! I'm still into kpop, but it's become boring. Everyone is the same, and a million groups seem to debut all at once. I don't even know who to follow.
If someone wants something similar to big bang, then listen to 1tym. They are awesome, and before big bang's time. One of the members of 1tym, Teddy, actually composes/writes songs now.
Some other favourites are:
DBSK
SHINee
MBLAQ
Brian Joo
JAY PARK (omg my obsession right now)
H.O.T
G.O.D
etc
I find the old gen created better and deeper songs.(ex GOD's "To my mother" such a good song)
