Does anyone know if the laptop rental service on campus is still going? if not, any other alternatives for borrowing a laptop on campus?

There is no more laptop rental. It was done away with in favour of more study spaces. Alternative? They have computers on the first floor of Thode, and on the second of Mills...and more, I suppose.

Only choice is to buy own laptop. :(

Doing away with the laptop rental program is the stupidest thing the library/whoever has done...

I tried to argue about this with Mary Koziol on Twitter :(

Trying to ask MDL to do something but I guess they've already gotten rid of what they had.

I dunno what went into maintaining those laptops but it sure wasn't worth getting more spaces.

Just buy an old crufty P3 or early P4 thinkpad for ~$50 from a pawn shop.

there was a vote and the vote indicated that people wanted more study space with outlets so they could just use their own laptop and also have a seat to use it; instead of the expensive laptop rental program. Im not sure how expensive it was to maintain but apparently it was too much money and limited staff.

I know Health Sci still loans out laptops, my friend just used it last week, but you can't take out their laptops out of the library.
