The show isn't that bad for a kid's show. Definitely worth the watch while doing something else.
The movie, however, was the worst movie I have ever seen. I am not being dramatic, I have not seen a worse movie. There were so many problems with it. I felt like I was watching the material that they cut out.
Dont try to play off the acting, a good director can pull performances out of children, it is not hard to do it just takes time and planning.
I agree that the bending was too much dancing and not enough bending. Seriously, as they are dancing around you would just tackle them. All the bending that was in the movie was so low key as well. The only thing I could see is they wanted to start off slow and leave themselves room to grow with how the special effects look.
BTW While an earth bender is starting his dancing to bend a rock at me, I would just pick up a rock like a normal person and throw it at him. Bending fail, muggle win.
The way the characters were developed was also disagreeable. The whole movie all I could think was that M Night was trying to screw this up.
Oh yeah and why wasnt Uncle fat? He is supposed to be fat and lazy, that is the best part of the show.
I makes me happy knowing that after such a long time of social/racial/cultural struggles, that in the end anyone in a movie who is important will be white, and bad guys are always not white. Fire nation are bad and ignorant, so obviously they must all be brown people. The earth nation is weak and the only one who can save them is while people, so lets make them asian and black. What about the water tribe city? They are strong and independent, well of course they must all be white people then. I'm not the type of person to normally care about this stuff, but it was fairly blatant.

Oh yeah and when I saw Asif Manvi in the movie I laughed out loud in the theater. Didnt bother too many people because there were max 10 in the theater.
