Late New Student Form
I sent my New Student Form in a week prior to the deadline (July 15th), and then left for my vacation. Today, I arrived home from vacation (July 19th) to find that my form was returned to me for some unknown reason. I was wondering what are the consequences to mailing the New Student Form after the deadline and what can I do to make sure I can get my Student Id before my move-in day. I heard a potential option is I can attempt to mail my form, and perhaps pick it up earlier or maybe even luck out. I was wondering what my potential options are and who I can contact to address this issue, and where they can be reached at.

If it wasn't received at McMaster by the 15th, then you no longer have guarantee of receiving your ID card before September.

You most likely won't get it for move-in day, unless you go to McMaster in-person prior to Move-in and have them take your photo and create the card for you at the school in-person. Though I'm not sure if they are doing that prior to Sept 1st. You would have to call the Registrar Office to see.

Either way, send the form in anyways so at least they can receive it.

If you don't get it before Sept 1st, then you'll have to wait in line with others to pick it up when school starts.

If we did send the form in on time, when does Mac usually send out the cards to us in the mail?

I sent mine a few days later and I know someone who went in to submit it in person a few days after the deadline this year, and one of the staff said it was okay. I think it just means that, like Chad said, you're not guaranteed to receive it before September. However, it depends on the volume of pictures they have and how many they can get done before they mail them out. Maybe go in person to hand it in? They have a dropbox outside the Registrar or you can give it to anyone in the office as well. At the worst case, you'd have to pick it up, but there's no way of knowing when their "cut-off" is

I believe we got the cards mid-August or so, if I remember correctly.
