Latin Honours
I believe that McMaster puts latin honours like 'Suma cum laude' or "magna cum laude" on your degree.

Anyone know the specifics as to obtain them?

So apparently McMaster does give out Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude.

It's likely based on what top % of the class you're in.

People have gotten Summa Cum Laude with a 10.3 and a 10.7 GPA, but that will depend on your faculty's overall difficulty.
