Leaders Building Leaders: Federal Public Service Leadership Development Internship
Qualifications: Students registered in an Honors program and entering their final year of study in September 2011.
Learn: Discover the possibilities to make a contribution within your field in the Federal Public Service (FPS) and get a credit toward your degree at the same time!
Experience: Work in the Federal Public Service to get job experience, training, and coaching. You may be eligible for employment in the FPS after graduation - if you are successful and are offered a position.
Applicants must be willing to seek employment in the Federal Public Service (FPS) for the summer 2011. If offered relevant employment in the FPS upon graduation, you will be expected to commit to work there for a minimum of two years.
Two Important Elements:
1. Apply for Federal Public Service (FPS) employment
2. If successful with application, then you will need to register for the POL SCI 4FG3 leadership course which begins in September 2011
Application Process:
Step 1: Submit an application online through OSCAR,
https://oscar.mcmaster.ca/mcauth/, indicating clearly that you are interested in being considered for the FPS Leaders Building Leaders Pilot.
Your application includes: current CV; Your commitment to working in the federal public service if offered relevant employment in 2012. This is your cover letter so please address it to: Hiring Manager
Step 2: Recommendation letter (email Gisela Oliveira - [email protected])
for a copy of the Professor Recommendation Letter. Once this letter is
completed the professor can email it back to [email protected]
Step 3: The top 20 - 30 students will be put in a pool that managers in the
federal public service will be able to access.
Step 4: Managers may interview students for their positions and choose
additional selection criteria.
Application Deadline: November 24, 2010

Didn't they do this last year, but never finished it? I remember going to the information session and handing in my resume/CV and never hearing anything about it again..?
