Leafs Pre-Season Talk
So did anyone watch Boston get beat down by the new hardcore leafs? They still lost 3-2 but man the leafs look really strong! If only they had some solid snipers to dump the puck in the net.. then its the playoffs.. and who knows the stanley cup!! Okay I'm getting ahead of myself. But its a start!

Toronto is going win the stanley cup this year. We lost yesterday because we didn't have any of good players on the ice. Toskala only played one period. It's only pre season, we're jus testing out some of our younger talent.

I'm so ready for the season! Bring it on! GO LEAFS GO! It's time we get a shot in the playoffs, it's been a very depressing last few years without playoff atmosphere in Toronto

How do you guys expect the Leafs to create any offence, because when the season starts and guys show up to play, they will be on the penalty kill all night long, not to mention they do not have a legimate first line or top six forward for that matter.............. No i am not a leaf basher, i love the leafs i am just being realistic

Last year the Leafs produced a hell of an amount of offence. 10th in the league to be exact. And all they lost was Nik Antropov... oh noes.
And the Leafs don't have guys that will be in the penalty box all game. Orr, Primeau, etc. will play like... 5 minutes a game, lay out a guy or fight a guy (which doesn't put the other team on the power play) and the defence doesn't seem to take as many penalties as you might think... (Kaberle had 8PIM, Komisarek had 120, Beauchemin would have had about 60, and Schenn had 71) To me that's not that bad. The defense is easily one of the best in the league, the goaltending looks good, and if the offense performs like they did last year, they'll be fine.

The Leafs had way too many penalties in this game. They easily could of been destroyed if Boston was more efficent on the powerplay |

Yes but the thing is IF the offense performs the same, last year they had an overachieving dominic moore and Antropov who had over 50 goals, they were replaced with unproven rookies and 30 year old swedes. To me the offense will not perform anywhere close and the leafs played a different style last year as well as Beauchemin and Komisarek o and you can never forget about Mr.Exelby. The Leafs style this year is to play tougher and be fighters hence more penalities mins, thus i think we are in for a very long, long season we will be lucky if we finish out of the bottom 3 in the NHL |
