Do failed courses count as part of the cumulative average, or do they get counted as one/two of the lowest marks we are allowed to get away with?

I am unaware of this "marks we are allowed to get away with".

Can you please expand on this?

I read somewhere that it is the best 24 of 30 units when calculating whether you have a 5+ average. I will try to find the source.

edit: I misread this thinking it said 24 of 30 units, not 24 to 30 units

24 is the minimum they will look at to consider whether or not your eligible for 2nd yr commerce, it is not the total amount they are looking at. they will expect you to complete the other 6 units sometime soon such as now during spring/summer terms and they will add it into the calculations.

yes you need to have completed 30 units in order for you to be in commerce II. so spring or summer school is definitely needed to cover the extra course required for entry into commerce II. you wont be kicked out of the program but you'll just fall behind if you dont complete the required 30 units before september 2011.
